Ye(s): the Jews are to blame..
… for insulin, the polio vaccine, the principles of genetic engineering, allowing blind people to read, aspirin, the birth control pill, MRI scans
… and that’s just in the field of medicine and healthcare. I could fill this entire essay with breakthrough discoveries and inventions championed by people of Jewish faith.
But does the religion known as Judaism control the media, the banks? Of course not. Individuals control these institutions. Religions don’t.
Holocaust denialism and misinformation
Oh my god, I just spent two and a half hours listening to Kanye West being interviewed by the modern day Walter Krankheit, Lex Friedman. And boy do I wish I could have that time back and just go for a swim in the ocean. After the first 30 minutes of talking about engineering a new type of human species according to his bizarre and outrageous directives, Kanye then went on a rant about education. As a learned and somewhat intellectual man, Lex frowned at Kanye claiming that humans didn’t need to learn history anymore and that the only important subject that should be taught to kids is engineering.
The paradox of anti-Semitism is that it is invariably up to the Jews to explain away the charges. The anti-Semite simply has to make them - Jack Schwartz
Then the conversation quickly spun to the “Jewish media,” and Lex patiently tries to educate Kanye like a primary school teacher on how large the world is and how saying something like that fuels hatred that has existed for millenia. The Jewish scapegoat is easily the oldest hate that exists in the world. Countless fictional books have been drafted that mention a covert cabal controlling the world via finance and media. The Russian Tsars commissioned a book to be written that outlines this in detail and lo and behold this book got into the hands of some of the more auspicious people in history. The Nazis, Stalin, the PLO and every other fringe European political party trying to grasp to power. It is indeed the oldest racist trope in the world. Nothing original, just hate of the unknown, pointing out to “another” to blame them for the forlorn nature of their own life.
I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain - James Baldwin
Then the ‘conversation’ took a darker turn. The holocaust. Ye dismissed this horrific human historical event by saying the number of Jews killed paled in comparison to the number of black babies that have ‘died’ via abortion in the lat 20 years. Again, insane and ridiculous. Painfully trying to point out how wrong his comparison really was, Lex struggled to make Kanye understand how these two events are not comparable and how his words were actually demeaning, hurtful and potentially dangerous for Jewish people who have to face veiled antisemitism on a daily basis. Increased shootings at synagogues only underline this violent antisemitism that exists in the underbelly of nearly every society on Earth.
I had to turn the interview off and take a break, I would never be listening to this podcast were it not for the outrageous platform that this person has. I spoke to a friend who had been listening, he said it was like watching a train wreck. It was so horrible that you couldn’t look away.
As someone who holds a German passport, has served in the German air force and lived in that country for 20 years, Kanye’s dismissiveness frightens me. The laissez faire nature of his anti-semitic rhetoric is actually what fuelled the flames of the nightmares of the second world war. I have had a lifelong relationship with Judaism, in the military we had lectures by Jewish rabbis about the religion and the positive role of Jewish people in German society prior to the 1930s, from politics to philosophy. My first significant relationship was with a Jewish girl who allowed me an immersion into the faith, the traditions and its amazing culture. To this day my favourite comedians are Jewish and most cultural thought leaders and writers I follow have a Jewish background too, most being secular. So i feel I have a deep understanding and appreciation for Jewishness. Having witnessed subtle antisemitism everywhere I have lived. My best friends where I live here in New Zealand are Israeli, they are the most humble, helpful and compassionate people I have ever met. Compassion and empathy are two of the main tenets of Judaism. In fact, in my 46 years on this Earth, I have never met a Jewish person whom I didn’t like. Can’t say that about any other religion, really. Maybe it’s a numbers game, maybe not. But I definitely have a kinship with people who have grown up in Jewish households as is evident by my absolute adoration of Jewish humour. I get it. As I do, the pain felt by witnessing the re-emergence of hostilities towards Jewish people. I feel the same kinship to the Māori people and the same empathy of pain when witnessing racism toward them. In both instances I feel there is a deep spiritual connection of mine and the pain is not cerebral, it is more in the heart region and gut. Racism and antisemitism stem from the same place in the human soul, resentment and fear.
What is and isn’t antisemitism
I spoke to a Jewish friend of mine in Vancouver, in reference to the new British prime minister, and mentioned my adoration for Jeremy Corbyn. He immediately stated, “oh but he’s antisemitic” and I said I didn’t think he was. I said that Corbyn had been openly critical of the policies toward Palestinians of Israeli politicians. That’s separate to antisemitism. He then said that even he was critical of Israel. I don’t agree that we should accuse people who criticise a sovereign country of antisemitism. Israel has done amazing things in its short history but as with all great innovations, certain shadows are cast.
And by shining a light at these shadows, people are trying to rectify the past. However which way that manifests itself.
I could go further into the history of how this antisemitism has always existed in society, the psychology and cultural roots, but I’d rather not. It is the most ignorant, basic and darkest fear in human society. The expression of these cliched sentiments is not only disrespectful and intellectually dishonest, it is actually physically dangerous. The world needed a holocaust 70 years ago to be reminded of how dangerous this thinking is. And now we have mainstream cultural icons whose following run in the billions, spouting the exact same inflammatory messages and at the same time saying “people shouldn’t learn history.” The implications are frightening and the news that Adidas (who had ties to the nazi party back then,) dropped Kanye as a collaborator. Minutes later Forbes magazine released a statement that Kanye had lost his billionaire status.
I feel like this has to go further than that. An example has to be set with him. In Germany, he would be going to prison for his statements, no doubt about it. Banning him from Instagram, Twitter etc.. is not enough. Taking away his money is not enough. He needs to be punished.
Speech is not free
Free speech is only a good idea until you scream “FIRE” in a crowded theatre. And if the whole world is a stage, then Kanye West is screaming “FIRE” through a megaphone to a packed out audience of billions.
Not good for our planet. We can do better for sure.
A nice silver lining of this was the thousands of social media users posting the message below. Bless you all and bless all of Judaism.
Thank you for reading, again, my motivation was not to offend anyone, but more to offer another perspective to the one droning out of your mainstream media controlled devices and social networks. My opinion may not represent yours, but it surely does represent another narrative to the ones many of you have been brainwashed to believe. It is okay to think differently.

With wealth, one is in a position of responsibility. You must try to help others. It is as simple as that.
I can't even look at a photo of him let alone listen to him being interviewed so big ups to you for sticking with it. You probably needed a hot shower afterwards - ugh.
Hey Chris, bang on once again. I love Lex, he inspires me in so many ways, but for the first time, on seeing the Ye sitting opposite him I had to question his judgement.
I never made it past three quarters of an hour; too sick at heart, watching that rag-cloaked visage of vacancy, Ye, fowling the air-waves like some inept, wanna-be provocateur, succeeding only in proving how out of touch he is with the real world.
Planned parenthood a Holocaust?! Give me a f#^** break.
Sadly, Lex wasted our time and no matter how objective the ‘push-back’, it’s totally bummed me out. X
